THE SOUTH BAY CUTS THE RIBBON ON NEW SCIENTOLOGY CHURCH
On August 28, 2005, nearly 4,000 joined city officials, the area’s police chief, and the San Jose/Silicon Valley NAACP President to open the new 57,000-square-foot home of the Church of Scientology Stevens Creek of San Jose, California.
San Jose Police Chief Rob Davis welcomed the Church to its new home and acknowledged the support and collaboration of the Church of Scientology in creating a safer community.
Vice Mayor Cindy Chavez presented a City of San Jose “Church of Scientology Week” proclamation on behalf of the mayor and city council and thanked the Church for its many community contributions.
San Jose City Councilmember Chuck Reed acknowledged Church members for their dedication to creating a better future for the community.
A Church of Scientology International Representative pointed out the progression from the opening of the Stevens Creek Church 21 years earlier as the first Scientology Church in Silicon Valley to the achievement today: All three Scientology Churches in the Bay Area attaining Ideal Church status—San Francisco, Los Gatos and Stevens Creek.
Completion of the new Church, he pointed out, is fulfillment of the first stage of creating an Ideal Church, the program launched by Chairman of the Board of Religious Technology Center, Mr. David Miscavige.
“While your accomplishment is great, realize that potential and responsibility are now even greater—not just inside this Church, but in everything that you can now generate to spread that sanity, compassion, and help that is Scientology.”
